Phi Sigma Omega membership has been held by a number of very prominent scholars and leaders in diverse fields. Membership cannot be solicited.  The Registrars office is located in the historic Garfield mansion in Washington , D.C. Inquiries should be sent by mail to the Registrar, David Merchant, at

Occasional dinners of Phi Sigma Omega have been held over the years, generally at a New York or Washington Club.  The class of membership is indicated by the design of the medallion and the colors of the ribbon. Life membership, which is in the gift of the Chancellor,  is generally conveyed by a silver colored medallion depicting a burning bush, suspended by a gold and black ribbon.
